From the President: Our Artist’s Yard Sale was a success beyond my wildest dreams, at least. I hoped we would make about $400 especially when we had all our "stuff" displayed. It really didn’t look like that much. WOW! Many thanks to all who donated, who phoned, who put out flyers, sent out emails, set up and tore down, worked the show and, of course, who bought!!!! Hopefully no one bought more than they brought - :)! Special thanks to our plein air artists - Janie and Sally - who donated and sold quite a bit of art.

PROFILE - I cannot very well tease you with "who is...." this month’s artist because as soon as I tell you she has been teaching art over 40 years, you will know it is Vicki Ford. A native NW Floridian, she is a graduate of PJC and FSU. She and her husband formerly had a photography business for 21 years and taught photography techniques and restoration all over the Southeast. She has two daughters who are also teachers in Santa Rosa county. King Middle School has been privileged to have her for their art teacher since it opened its doors 37 years ago. The Ford’s home was completely demolished by trees during Ivan and they are just now getting their lives back on track after reconstruction. Vicki’s art includes but is not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture, fiber art and mixed media. We thank Vicki for the beautiful smile she always brings to meetings, as well as her delicious offerings warm from the oven!

October "Workshop" will be "Wishing Stars" which we will make with polymer clay. A list of supplies needed was sent out about 10 days ago but if you don’t want to buy things individually, you can purchase a kit from Darlene for $8. Just let her know ASAP if you want one so she can make up enough.

Announcements: The 2009-2010 roster is complete and was sent out by Paula our Secretary. From now on, please email Paula (quilter44Q@mchsi.com ) if you want to send anything out to the whole member-ship.
