From the President:
This will be the first edition of monthly newsletters to be sent electonically. It will be sent as an email because some of our members do not have Word or WordPerfect with which to open an attachment, so it won’t have fun fonts, columns or glitzy clip art, as that would translate into gobbledy-gook in some emails. So here you have it – plain jane boring text. . . . . . . :)
PROFILE
Each month we will profile one of our members so we can get to know each other a little better. We begin our profiles with Sally Miller, who joined us about five years ago, coming to us from Fort Lauderdale, where she had been an avid plein aire painter. She shared with us her large, loose watercolors of beautiful south FL homes, palms and gardens. She has continued her passion for plein aire with the Pensacola group, and has furthered her art under the tutelage of Nina Fritz and Morris Eady. She and her husband Charles live in a little bungalow in historic Bagdad where she often hosts other plein aire artists. She teaches art at Bagdad and Pea Ridge elementary schools. We are happy to have Sally as part of our group.
Announcements:
Former member and incredible acrylic artist Larry Frazier has six large easels that he is giving away. If you would like to help his wife clean out their garage, please call him at 994-5372.
Also, seeing our notice about the current financial state of the SRAA, he had generously volunteered one of his paintings for us to auction or raffle as a fund-raiser. Many thanks to Larry.
Janie Seal has a painting juried into the Pensacola Art Museum Show that will run about three more weeks, I believe. At the July meeting, we will set a date for those of us who want to take a "Field Trip" to the PMA (and other galleries) and have lunch somewhere fun!
Submissions to the Newsletter:
Please send me tidbits of info you would like to share – classes available other places, art shows, interesting websites, SALES, and, of course, pictures of your work.
Wishing you happy creating.......don’t let a day go by that you don’t CREATE something, even if it is just in your mind!!!!!!
