SRAA Workshops for 2010
January 23 - Linda Wicker - Hammered Aluminum Jewelry
Create earrings, choker and pendant, or eyeglass chain with aluminum wire and a hammer. Bring small hammer (balpeen is best), wire cutters, any jewelry pliers you have, small beads and thin wire if you want to decorate the hammered pieces, thick metal or small anvil to hammer on if you have it. I will have some metal for hammering, aluminum wire, copper and brass wire, earring wires for you for a small fee of $5.00
February 27 - Darlene Samuels - Mixed Medium Story Box
Mixed Medium Story Box:
This is a collaged box filled with items that are meaningful to you. It could be deeply meaningful or playful; the interpretation will depend upon you. You will take a box and create your own story.
Supply list:
Box: this will need to be a sturdy box such as a wooden cigar box, craft box or heavy duty card board box. Nothing flimsy such as a cereal box or shoe box will work. It can have a lid or not, that will be up to you. I personally love a box that can be opened and closed so you are creating your own treasure box that compels someone to open it.
Glue that dries clear
Matte Medium
Photos: I normally make copies of my originals so I can cut them up
Old keys, doll parts, and other items
Fibers and fabric
Paint to paint your box, acrylic is best
Quotes
Bits of old books and things that you can glue to the box
Remember it is your story so items that are meaningful with you but keep in mind they will have to be glued to your box
